Was the King a Democrat?

Do you ever wonder why a donkey is the symbol for the Democrat party?

Well as legend has it, one day long, long ago the king wanted to go fishing. So  he asked the royal weather forecaster what to expect for the next few hours.  The palace meteorologist assured him that there was no chance of rain.

So the king and the queen went fishing.  On the way to their favorite fishing hole they met a man with a fishing pole riding on a donkey, and he asked the man if the fish were biting.

The fisherman replied: "Your Majesty, you might want to head back to the palace.  In just a short time I expect a huge rain storm."

The king replied: "I hold the palace meteorologist in high regard.  He is an educated and experienced professional.

Besides, I pay him very high wages.  He gave me a very different forecast. I trust him."

So the king continued on his way. However, in a short time a torrential rain fell from the sky.  The King and Queen were totally soaked.

Furious, the king returned to the palace and gave the order to fire the meteorologist.  Then he summoned the fisherman and offered him the prestigious position of royal forecaster.

The fisherman said, "Your Majesty, I do not know anything about forecasting.  I obtain my information from my donkey.  If I see my donkey's ears drooping, it means with certainty that it will rain."

The king hired the donkey on the spot.

And thus began the practice of hiring dumb asses to work in influential  government posts.

The practice remains to this date.

cover your ass

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.     Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.     He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Thank You Teachers!

In honor of Teachers everywhere - Teachers never know what they might have to do for their kids. A group of 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, accompanied by two female teachers, went on a field trip to the local racetrack, (Churchill Downs) to learn about thoroughbred horses and the supporting industry (Bourbon), but mostly to see the horses. When it was time to take the children to the bathroom, it was decided that the girls would go with one teacher and the boys would go with the other. The  teacher assigned to the boys was waiting outside the men's room when one of the boys came out and told her that none of them could reach the urinal. Having no choice, she went inside, helped the boys with their pants, and began hoisting the little boys up one by one, holding on to their 'wee-wees' to direct the flow away from their clothes.
